That is us. Here is what it does and how to stop it.

What it reads

Public pages on videographers' own websites — your home page, and up to 4 pages we can reach from it, looking for what you shoot, roughly what you charge, and how to contact you. Nothing behind a login. It waits 2 seconds between requests to the same site, and it reads your robots.txt before anything else.

What we do with it

We build a list of videographers we might approach about joining the network. It is an internal list. Being on it does not create a page about you, a listing, or a public record of any kind — if we never write to you, you will never hear from us and nothing about you is published.

How to stop it

Add this to your robots.txt and we will stop reading your site, usually within a day:

User-agent: VideographerNetBot
Disallow: /

We honour wildcards and $ anchors, so a narrower rule works too. If you would rather just tell us, email [email protected] and we will remove you from the list and not read your site again.

Listings on this directory are a separate matter — most were added by the videographers themselves. Every listing says where it came from and offers removal on the listing itself, no account needed.
